In Asterix the Gladiator, the Roman Prefect of Gaul, Odious Asperagus, wants to give Caesar one of the invincible Gauls as a present. His men kidnap the village bard Cacofonix whose singing voice (unfortunately for Caesar and the Romans) happens to be dreaded and avoided by all members of his village.

Once the Gauls notice why their village is so peaceful and quiet, Asterix and Obelix go off to Rome by way of a Phoenician ship to find Cacofonix. Not impressed with the bard's performance, Caesar decides to have Cacofonix go to the Circus to be fed to the lions. Asterix and Obelix dress up, enlist, and train as gladiators in order to rescue Cacofonix.

Get ready for some fun at the Circus-Maximus.
